Memorials
Memorials in Vail Memorial Park consists of
natural stone materials concentrated in forest clearings along
Gore Creek at the base of the rugged slopes that define the southern
boundary of the park. The design of the Vail Memorial Park adheres
to a natural motif in forms and materials.
Individual memorials are arranged to be compatible with the undisturbed
character of the natural landscape. No formal carved headstones
or monuments are available. Memorial inscriptions will be placed
on natural stones in low dry stacked walls, on native boulders
sensitvely placed in clusters, and on flagstone slabs along pathways
of crushed stone. Trees will also be available as unique memorials.
